The Social Innovation Iniative will host a discussion, "Education and Environmental Innovation in the Golden Hill Paugussett and Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nations," with Clan Mother Shoran Waupatukuay Piper and Councilor Rahiem Eleazar. This event is held in collaboration with Yale University's Native American Cultural Center (NACC).

As we innovate novel solutions to society’s most pressing problems, we sometimes forget that new ideas are not always what we need. The speakers in this series illustrate that the greatest impact can happen if we pause and remember the wisdom, knowledge, and practices are ancestors held which we have forgotten. When we root our social innovation journey in these wisdoms and practices, we are more likely to create sustainable, healthy innovations that foster equitable societies.

The discussion is part of the Social Innovation Initiative's Fall Series, “Rooted in Wisdom: Indigenous Practice in Social Innovation Around the World.” Dinner will be served.
