The Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs will host a conversation with CNN anchor and former Jackson Senior Fellow Jim Sciutto, moderated by David Simon, senior lecturer and assistant dean for graduate education. He will explain how U.S. allies around the world — particularly in the Asia-Pacific region — are perceiving and adjusting to the Trump Administration's growing embrace of an "America First" posture in foreign relations. He will also address the challenges of doing international journalism in the current international political climate.

He reports and provides analysis on all aspects of U.S. national security including foreign policy, the military, intelligence community and the State Department. Sciutto is the author of four books, including the 2024 New York Times bestseller, The Return of Great Powers: Russia, China and the Next World War, which examines the breakdown of a decades-old international order among the world’s strongest powers.
